On June 19, 2017, the Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI) opened a new branch in New York City, one of the fastest growing tech hubs in the world. The new office, which is located on the 48th floor of 10 Hudson Yards in Manhattan, is one the largest private real estate developments in the history of the United States.
In collaboration with our partners, SAP Next-Gen and SAP LeonardoCenter, HPI New York we will present HPI research and innovations to New York’s research institutes, universities and companies. The New York branch will also allow all of the HPI research groups to intensify their cooperation with their American partners and launch new projects.
HPI’s teaching and research focuses on the foundations and applications of large, highly complex and networked IT systems. In addition, HPI concentrates on the development and research of user-oriented innovations for all areas of life. The HPI School of Design Thinking is based on the Stanford model of the d.school and is Europe’s first innovation school for university students.
